The Montana Public Health And Human Services, Department Of Radiation Control handles the registration and regulations for portable x-ray machines. The Montana Department of Labor & Industry handles the licensing.
Applications for an x-ray license remain valid for 1 year under normal circumstances. If you submit your application and something is missing, a licensing specialist will work with you to complete it.
Online applications are the most efficient method and allow you to upload your own supplemental forms at any time. Paying the fee triggers the beginning of the staff review process.
